Spanakopita Recipe

Spanikopita
  • 1 package frozen spinach, thawed and drained
  • 1 cup crumbled feta cheese
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1/4 cup chopped fresh dill
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/2 cup melted butter
  • 1 egg, beaten
  • 1 package phyllo dough (usually 20 sheets)
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  1. Preheat oven to 375°F.
  2. Mix spinach, feta, Parmesan, dill, garlic, and egg.
  3. Layer phyllo dough, brushing with melted butter between sheets.
  4. Place spinach mixture on half of phyllo stack.
  5. Fold remaining phyllo over filling, pressing edges to seal.
  6. Brush top with butter and bake 35-40 minutes or golden brown.
