Fall-Off-The-Bone Smothered Short Ribs Recipe | Southern-Style Comfort Food

Get ready for a hearty, comforting dish that’s sure to become a family favorite! Today, I’m sharing my secrets for tender, fall-off-the-bone smothered short ribs. This classic Southern recipe is easy to make and packed with flavor.

**Ingredients:**

* 4 pounds beef short ribs

* 1 teaspoon salt

* 1/2 teaspoon black pepper

* 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder

* 1/2 teaspoon onion powder

* 2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce

* 2 tablespoons soy sauce

* 1 cup all-purpose flour

* 2 cups beef broth

**Instructions:**

1. Season the short ribs with salt, pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder.

2. Heat a couple of tablespoons of oil in a large Dutch oven over medium-high heat.

3. Sear the short ribs until browned on all sides, about 5 minutes. Remove the browned ribs from the pot and set them aside.

4. Add a little more oil to the pot if necessary, then sauté the onions until they’re softened and translucent.

5. Sprinkle the flour over the onions and cook for 1-2 minutes, stirring constantly.

6. Gradually stir in the beef broth, Worcestershire sauce, and soy sauce. Bring the mixture to a boil, then reduce the heat to a simmer.

7. Return the short ribs to the pot and make sure they’re covered with the sauce. If necessary, add a little more broth or water.

8. Cover the pot and simmer the short ribs for 2 1/2 to 3 hours, or until they’re tender and falling off the bone.

9. Serve the short ribs hot, spooning some of the rich sauce over the top of each portion.
